Class Objectives: Our knowledge of the historical past is preserved in writings extending back as far as 3500 B.C.
This course is designed to acquaint students with continuity and change as it applies to world civilizations from the earliest written records to the present. The political, economic, military, and cultural aspects of those civilizations will be examined and analyzed in an effort to promote critical thinking and to help students make global connections between the past and present.
All students will be required to read and write about history. They will be required to take notes. They will learn historical facts (dates, names, locations) and be able to use that information to create essays containing a thesis and supporting evidence. Students will study world geography as an essential part of understanding world history. They will also become familiar with methods of historical research and how those methods are applied in an authentic setting.

then he or she may print a new copy from this website.
